What I'm Doing to Get My Business Found

Getting found online as someone who started over.
This year I retired STAK Marketing and built Slow Burn Co. in its place. That meant not only a new name, but also a new website, updated services, a brand facelift, and fresh everything.
The biggest thing I was apprehensive about when I did the rebrand is:
When you take down a website, you don't just lose a logo and a color palette. You start to lose everything Google knew about you.

I wasn't necessarily starting from zero in my business; I had six years of real clients and results behind me. But online, I was starting completely over. Years of SEO history started to drop off, and my AEO groundwork essentially needed to be rebuilt.
So here's exactly what I'm doing to rebuild that previous visibility, and what I would do for you if you were going through a big rebrand.
Publishing Two Blogs A Month, No Skipping
Posting fresh content is the best way to signal to Google that you are an active, relevant, and worth indexing website. And the best way to get fresh content on your website is by adding blogs.
I have committed to adding two helpful marketing blogs a month to my website with useful information that people are actually searching for.
The thing with adding content and blogs is that consistency matters. So whether you can only do one blog a month or one every other month - as long as you have a pipeline of content, Google and AI search engines will keep coming back.
Repurposing My Newsletter Into Blog Content
I already write The Wick newsletter every other week. Instead of letting that writing live in one inbox and disappear, I'm turning select newsletters into blog posts on the site.
This does double duty. It gives me more indexed content without starting from a blank page every time, and it gives people who find me through search a way into my newsletter list too.
Handing SEO To An Expert, Every Month
Surprise! We're the experts! I have my marketing manager optimize my site's SEO every single month. This is an ongoing process that we constantly invest in.
She focuses on updated meta descriptions, internal linking, keyword tracking, on-page copy optimization, competitor analysis, search trends, and technical fixes as they come up.
We're already seeing traction build back, and that's directly because it's being worked consistently instead of treated as a launch day task.
Leaning On Word Of Mouth And Social While I Rebuild
While the SEO rebuild is in progress, I'm not just sitting around waiting on Google. My calendar is full right now because of referrals and social media. I have committed to posting every day on social media, sending out email marketing, and staying in contact with my partners to ensure I'm still getting referrals.
Saving Google Ads For When Costs Drop
I'm holding off on Google Ads for now because ad costs are high heading into the end of the year. My plan is to turn them on once pricing eases up in the new year, then use paid search to drive a real spike in online traffic on top of the organic base I'll have built by then.
If you're rebuilding too, timing your ad spend around cost cycles instead of launching the second you're ready can make your budget go a lot further.
Rebranding is a big decision and there are a lot of things affected. But, if you put the resources and time into building up a solid foundation, it will pay off BIG TIME within a year.
Staying consistent with fresh content, SEO, organic visibility, social media, networking, etc is going to add fire to the Google and AI flame as you build everything back up.
